Sweet Sesame Chicken
Ingredients
- 2 red onions (sliced)
- 2 peppers (sliced)
- 160g sliced pea pods
- 8 chicken thighs (boneless and skinless)
- 20g cornflour
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 100g Katjap manis (sweet soy sauce)
- 60ml rice vinegar
- 10g sesame seeds
Enough for 4 servings.
Method
- Cut the onions, peppers, and pea pods into strips.
- Grate the garlic.
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and coat them in cornflour.
- Heat a large pan over medium heat and add a splash of oil.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced onions, peppers, and pea pods to the pan and stir-fry for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the minced garlic, Katjap manis, and rice vinegar. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Sprinkle the sesame seeds over the dish and stir to combine.
- Serve hot with rice or noodles.
